My background is somewhat different from other users. I’ve owned boats for approximately 35 years, operated a marine repair business, rebuilt and repaired outboards, evaluated boats for prospective buyers, and spent decades professionally diagnosing, repairing and teaching mechanical systems.
In my opinion, outboard prices from the big brands have gotten too high, and you’re paying a substantial premium for the name.
I got to know Parsun through a video collaboration and received an F40 and a Neptune SW trolling motor. I installed and used both myself, and I’ve been very pleased with the experience so far. They’ve given me a good reason to look beyond the familiar brands.
It’s still early to judge long-term durability, but my first-hand experience has been positive. For boat owners who care about getting good equipment for their money, I think Parsun deserves a serious look.
