PARSUN D200 in Beijing: Diesel Power for a 13.3-Meter Fire and Rescue Boat
Application Overview
A UF39 fire and rescue boat powered by PARSUN D200 diesel outboards was delivered in Tongzhou, Beijing, following earlier sea trials in Qingdao.
Measuring 13.3 meters in length and 3.2 meters in beam, with a reported tonnage of 9.6 metric tons, the boat requires dependable propulsion for carrying personnel and equipment. Installation, fuel safety, operating costs, and performance under load were key considerations in selecting its power system.
Reported Performance
During the Qingdao sea trials, the boat reportedly reached approximately 22–23 knots with a driver and one additional crew member aboard. After more people boarded, the interviewee reported a speed difference of approximately 1–2 knots between the two load conditions.
The relatively small change in speed left a strong impression on the interviewee, providing a practical reference for operations that involve carrying additional personnel and equipment.
The interviewee also described the D200 as delivering ample power and a strong response during acceleration.
User Feedback
Installation was one of the benefits highlighted by engineer Wang Shuzhi:
“Installation is straightforward and does not require complicated procedures.”
Reflecting on the earlier sea trials, an interviewee also praised the engine’s fuel economy compared with gasoline outboards of the same horsepower that he had encountered. He considered this particularly relevant to fishermen and other working-boat operators who closely monitor daily fuel costs.
These observations reflect the interviewee’s experience; no measured fuel-consumption figures were provided for this case.
Why the Setup Fits
Fire and rescue boats need sufficient power as personnel and equipment loads change. They also require a propulsion system suited to routine operation and maintenance.
In this application, the D200 was selected with diesel fuel safety, installation convenience, operating economy, and load-carrying performance in mind. The reported trial experience—particularly the limited speed change after adding passengers—offers an application-specific reference for users assessing diesel outboard power for working boats.
The Tongzhou delivery adds a fire and rescue application to PARSUN’s growing D200 portfolio, supported by feedback from actual boat trials.
